Revised Worker Safety Information

The Department of Pesticide Regulation revised the Pesticide Safety Information Series (PSIS), which are available for agricultural settings (A Series) and non-agricultural settings (N Series) in English, Spanish and Punjabi. Please find the information here:

California regulations require the PSIS leaflets to be part of the pesticide handler and field worker training. Several county agricultural commissioner offices require information from A8, A9 and N8 to be printed and posted in the workplace. Please check for the specific requirements in the county where you farm.

The revisions include clarity and readability and to reflect recent changes to the Pesticide Worker Safety regulations found in the California Code of Regulations. Another change is the Proposition 65 list of pesticides know by the State to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity has been updated.

Winter Rice Meetings will go Virtual This Year

Due to COVID-19, many of the winter meetings for the rice industry will be held virtually this year.

Our Industry Calendar is a good resource for these meetings. Currently, the scheduled meetings include Corteva Virtual Rice Herbicide Seminars on February 3 and 10, and the University of California Cooperative Extension February 11.
