Audubon California is hosting its third Field Day and Farm Tour at River Garden Farms on Thursday, December 5 for all farmers, producers and growers interested in learning about cover crops.

The focus of this field day will be understanding how to choose and implement a cover crop in row crop production, incorporate the cover crop into nitrogen budgets, and non-chemical pest control methods for row crops and rice.

Seasoned cover crop users Scott Park and  Tom Johnson will be in attendance, as well as University of California and Natural Resources Conservation Service staff, to provide the most current information and answer questions.

Here’s more information on the event, including the schedule of events and your way to sign up.  Your RSVP is requested by November 27.

Winter Rice Meetings will go Virtual This Year

Due to COVID-19, many of the winter meetings for the rice industry will be held virtually this year.

Our Industry Calendar is a good resource for these meetings. Currently, the scheduled meetings include Corteva Virtual Rice Herbicide Seminars on February 3 and 10, and the University of California Cooperative Extension February 11. Please note, the UCCE Rice event requires advance registration and a $10 fee. More information and links to these events are available at our calendar section.
