Reminder: CRC Grower Meeting happening next week

Our annual grower meeting will be held on Thursday, January 23, and will feature a comprehensive look at the top issues facing our industry. 

The morning meeting will be at the Colusa Casino Community Room, with doors open at 8:00 a.m. and the meeting starting at 8:30 a.m. The Yuba City meeting will be at Hillcrest Catering at the Plaza Room and will feature identical content and speakers as Colusa. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. and the meeting starts at 1:00 p.m.

Our lineup of speakers includes Tyson Redpath of The Russell Group, who will provide an update on farm policy. Louie Brown of Kahn, Soares and Conway will have information on new developments in the State Capitol. Northern California Water Association President David Guy will review water issues in our region. Peter Bachman with USA Rice will provide the latest developments on international trade. Ann Grottveit with Kahn, Soares and Conway will have details about AB-5; California law regarding employees and independent contractors.

Winter Rice Meetings will go Virtual This Year

Due to COVID-19, many of the winter meetings for the rice industry will be held virtually this year.

Our Industry Calendar is a good resource for these meetings. Currently, the scheduled meetings include Corteva Virtual Rice Herbicide Seminars on February 3 and 10, and the University of California Cooperative Extension February 11. Please note, the UCCE Rice event requires advance registration and a $10 fee. More information and links to these events are available at our calendar section.
