Important Progress made in Pilot Salmon Project

We recently reached a milestone with year two of the Rice Commission’s Pilot Salmon Project, when UC Davis researchers took the juvenile salmon that were raised in rice fields and released them into the Sacramento River.

The release included nearly 350 salmon equipped with special transmitters, so their progress to the Pacific can be monitored.

Here’s a link to a blog from Paul Buttner on the project.   Here’s a link to our latest Ingrained Podcast, covering this effort.   Additionally, look for our newest podcast next week, which provides more detail on the salmon research.
