Rice part of Upcoming Sacramento Valley Pest Management Webinar

The University of California Cooperative Extension Sutter-Yuba-Colusa will be holding a three-hour pest management CE webinar on December 9, to provide pest management information and research updates on rice and some of the other major annual crops in our region.

The webinar will include an hour of rice presentations from Luis Espino, Rice Farming Systems Advisor in Butte County, and Whitney Brim-DeForest, Rice and Wild Rice Advisor in Sutter and Yuba Counties.  Some of their topics include rice blast, tadpole shrimp, armyworms and weedy rice.

Early registration is encouraged, as enrollment is limited. The three-hour webinar costs $25. For more information or to sign up, click on this link.  DPR CE and CCA credits are pending (2 “other” hours and 0.5 Laws & Regs hours).

Winter Rice Meetings will go Virtual This Year

Due to COVID-19, many of the winter meetings for the rice industry will be held virtually this year.

Our Industry Calendar is a good resource for these meetings. Currently, the scheduled meetings include Corteva Virtual Rice Herbicide Seminars on February 3 and 10, and the University of California Cooperative Extension February 11. Please note, the UCCE Rice event requires advance registration and a $10 fee. More information and links to these events are available at our calendar section.
